One NHL-size sheet on Cranston's west side

Cranston Veterans Memorial Ice Rink is Cranston's own rink on the western side of the city, built around one NHL-regulation 200-by-85-foot sheet in its main building. Along that sheet run 1,060 bleacher seats, the ice itself is rated for 425 skaters at a time, and ten locker rooms serve the teams that pass through.

The ice is shared by several high school hockey programs, numerous youth hockey leagues, and adult leagues for both men and women, alongside public skating and learn-to-skate sessions. The Cranston Figure Skating Association calls the rink home, and Southern RI Youth Hockey and the Cranston Senior Hockey League are among the other tenants on the schedule.

The rink's own regular event is Friday Night Rock'n Skate, a public session run under dimmed lighting with music, pitched at families and friends and at anyone trying skating for the first time. Between periods, spectators have arcade games, a concession area and the rink's pro shop to fill the wait.
