The Syracuse Crunch's practice rinks
Cicero Twin Rinks are the two ice sheets of the Midstate Athletic Community Center, known as The MACC, just off Route 11 north of Cicero. The building is run by the Midstate Youth Hockey Association, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, and holds one NHL-sized rink and one Olympic-sized rink, both with LED sports lighting and bleacher seating.
The rinks are the official practice facility of the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch. They are also home ice for Midstate Youth Hockey, which runs 13 teams and a Learn to Play program here, and for the Upstate Badgers, several local high school teams, the Skating Club of CNY and the CNY Adult Hockey League. Midstate counts more than 300 alumni who went on to play Division III hockey or higher, and more than two dozen players from the Syracuse Nationals, who train here, have played Division I college hockey, a number of them reaching the NHL.
Junior hockey has passed through too. The Syracuse Stampede began play in 2011 in the International Junior Hockey League's Super Elite League and played out of the Cicero Twin Rinks, finishing 35–5–2, winning their conference and reaching the IJHL national championship game.
