Wasaga Beach's twin-pad arena, opened in 2024

Wasaga Stars Arena is Wasaga Beach's twin-pad, NHL-size arena, built together with the Wasaga Beach Public Library. Before it opened, the new building was to be called the Cortellucci-Zancor Centre; council chose the Wasaga Stars Arena name instead. Its grand opening was the Breaking the Ice Festival, which ran from February 10 to 19, 2024, drew more than 6,200 people and started the town's 50th anniversary celebrations. An NHL alumni game put Jason Arnott, Shayne Corson and Scott Thornton on the ice.

The building has two rinks, the Dennis Zanardo Community Rink and the Zancor Spectator Rink. A 20,000-square-foot library sits inside it, and a second-floor indoor running track runs above the Community Rink.

The town's first Junior A team now plays here. Wasaga Beach announced its Greater Metro Hockey League club from centre ice, picked the name Wasaga River Dragons from 239 suggestions, and schedules home games on Tuesday nights. The team averages over 500 spectators per home game, and the arena hosted the league's All-Star event on January 13, 2026.
