West End Rink is part of the West End Community Centre on Denman Street in downtown Vancouver, a building that also holds a fitness centre and the Joe Fortes branch of the public library. The ice surface measures 147 by 74 feet, with seating for 30.
The ice is seasonal. It operates from October to March each year with public skating sessions and Vancouver Park Board skating lessons for all ages, and between May and August the arena floor becomes hardwood, carrying a full-size basketball gymnasium and other sports and activities for all ages.
The centre is run by the West End Community Centre Association in partnership with the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, and it shares facilities with the Vancouver School Board. King George Secondary School is next door, its students keep their library inside the centre, and they have access to the fitness centre and the ice rink.
