The Olympic figure skating practice rink in John Hendry Park

Trout Lake Rink is part of Trout Lake Community Centre in John Hendry Park, near Victoria Drive and East 12th Avenue. The centre began as the Grandview Community Centre, built in 1963, and was renovated and renamed Trout Lake Community Centre in 1977.

The current rink and renovations were completed in 2010 as the training venue for figure skating at the Winter Olympics, with the Park Board as the largest funder; the real cost of the ice rink has been estimated at CA$15.9 million. The NHL-size sheet measures 200 by 85 feet and seats 250.

The centre was the home of the Burnaby Steelers until they moved to Britannia Community Centre in 2003, and it hosts community events including a First Nations pow-wow and the Trout Lake Farmers Market.
