Chatham Memorial Arena, open since 1949

Chatham Memorial Arena opened in 1949. Its first tenants were the Chatham St. Clair Maroons, who returned senior hockey to Chatham after a ten-year absence. More than 2,800 fans saw Chatham win game two 5-4 there that first season.

The junior Maroons have played in the building since 1959. The 1959-60 senior Maroons beat the Windsor Bulldogs four games to two for the Ontario Hockey Association Senior A title and went on to win the Allen Cup. In 1989-90 Brian Wiseman scored 70 goals and 77 assists in 40 games for the Maroons and broke the league's single-season point and assist records, with the 3,000-seat arena packed to the rafters from Christmas on.

Memorial Arena was a Kraft Hockeyville finalist in 2015, and the prize money paid for a digital outdoor sign, automatic doors and heated spectator areas. The arena has hosted hockey, figure skating, ringette and ball hockey, and visitors can view trophy cases filled with memorabilia.
