A twin-pad arena in use since 2009 that replaced the 1960-61 Essex Memorial Arena
The Essex Centre Sports Complex has been in use since September 2009 and officially opened in January 2010 as a twin-pad arena. It replaced the Essex Memorial Arena, built in 1960-61, which served as home ice for the Essex 73's from 1973 to 2009 and was demolished in the summer of 2015.
The main rink, the Libro Credit Union Rink, is NHL-sized with bowl seating for 1,168, and the Shaheen Rink is a practice pad with bleacher seating for 222. A 210-metre indoor walking track wraps around the Libro rink and is free for public use.
The complex has ten dressing rooms, three referee rooms, two meeting rooms, a canteen and a skate shop. The arenas are used for hockey and figure skating in ice season and for lacrosse, ball hockey, concerts, dances and shows in the off-season.
