Ridgetown's East Kent Memorial Arena, first built in 1954

The East Kent Memorial Arena was first built in 1954 and underwent significant renovations and additions in the 1970s and again in the mid 1990s. It seats approximately 800, with a full concession booth on the main level and a second-floor auditorium that gives spectators an elevated view over the ice. The ice measures 185 by 85 feet.

It has mainly hosted minor hockey in Chatham-Kent, including AAA hockey from novice to midget, and the Blenheim Blades and Dresden Kings of Junior C have also played regular-season home games in Ridgetown. In 2017 municipal staff picked this arena as the best location for a dressing room requested by the Chatham-Kent Cyclones, the highest level of minor hockey played in the municipality, citing available space, ice time and access to Highway 401.

The arena hosted its first university hockey game on October 1, 2017, when the University of Guelph Gryphons played the first Ridgetown Showdown, and the Gryphons won both the 2017 and 2018 editions over the Windsor Lancers. In December 2017 the municipality committed to a new dressing room with equitable amenities for up to eight female players on co-ed teams.

Adult skating CA$3.75; membership skating CA$7.50; stick and puck skills CA$7.50 per session (tax included); Tiny Tot skating (ages 1-6) and the sponsored free skates have no charge.

Skating with children

An adult must accompany children under six at Tiny Tot sessions, where children must wear a helmet; at the free skates participants under 17 need to be accompanied by an adult.
