Public skating at Worcester Common Oval: the next 7 days
Currently out of season The City of Worcester's Oval page says the 2025/26 skating season has come to a close, and the DCU Center's venue page says the rink is closed for the season and reopens in December 2026. The 2026/27 hours are not posted yet; the pages say to check back during the season for regular and special hours. Official schedule update
Admission, rentals and arrival details, researched from official rink information. Source checks stay current for 30 days.
Admission
Skate admission is US$6 on the City's page, with children 5 and under free (the DCU Center's venue page words it as children under 5). Groups of 10 or more pay US$5 each, bought in advance by phone. These are the prices posted for the Oval; the 2026/27 season has not opened yet.
Skate rental is US$6 a pair during public skating, and renters need valid identification. A Little Helper Skate Guide is US$5 an hour, and rentals stop 30 minutes before closing.
Individual skaters pay for admission and skates at the rink. Group admission for 10 or more must be bought in advance by calling 508-929-0162, and private rentals run before or after public skate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The City points skaters to garages within walking distance, including the underground Worcester Common Garage at 2 Eaton Place, the Mercantile Center, Federal Plaza and Pearl-Elm garages.
The rink has ramps on and off the ice. Skate Assistance Trainers and Bobby the Seal skate aids are free on site (subject to availability), caregivers must wear skates on the ice, and adaptive sleds and wheelchairs can have private access a half hour before or after public skate with a week's notice.
The 12,000-square-foot rink behind City Hall has piped-in music, concessions and holiday lights, and local food trucks are on site on Saturdays and Sundays during the season.
