Indoor rink founded in 1966 and open year round, home ice for Acton-Boxboro youth hockey.
Nashoba Valley Olympia was founded in 1966 and is an indoor rink in Boxborough, Massachusetts, that keeps its ice open year round. Public skating, skating lessons and ice hockey all share the ice.
Youth hockey is the anchor tenant: the Acton-Boxboro Youth Hockey Association counts Nashoba Valley and Valley Sports as its two home rinks. Adult players have Senior League Hockey, a recreational league that has served the Nashoba Valley area for more than 20 years. Figure skating has a competitive record here as well, with the rink hosting the New England Regional Championships in 2008 and 2016 and the Eastern Sectional Championships in 2018. In 2016 the rink was also running Learn to Skate USA classes that teach beginners basic coordination, balance and movement.
The ice plant has been renewed twice. The rink bought a new compressor unit for its refrigeration system in 1999 to maintain its ice surfaces more efficiently, and after 20 years of near-continuous operation replaced it with a second-generation unit in 2019. Owner Lisa Cote said the upgrade lets the rink "deliver reliable ice surfaces to our skaters."
