Founded by Olympian Scott Fusco

The Edge Sports Center was created in Bedford in response to a growing demand for year-round athletic facilities. Scott Fusco founded it and still manages it; he won the Hobey Baker Award at Harvard in 1986, where he was a two-time All-American and the career scoring leader, and he played for the US Olympic team in 1984 and 1988.

The building is anchored by two ice rinks alongside two outdoor turf fields, one of which is enclosed from mid-November through March. The major tenants on the ice are Lexington Bedford Youth Hockey, Bedford High School, Concord Carlisle High School and the East Coast Wizards, whose program alone counts 850 players on 22 girls' teams, 21 boys' teams, a co-ed development group and adult teams, with the select AAA program based here.

Expect a busy hockey building: more than 5,000 youth and adult players use it each week in season, and it hosts at least 750 youth, 600 adult and 60 high school games a season. Families use the same ice for figure skating, learn-to-skate classes, public skating, clinics and summer camps.
