Arlington's Summer Street rink, renamed for the coach whose 1967 state title was his fourth
Ed Burns Arena is Arlington's hockey rink on Summer Street, renamed in honor of Arlington coach Ed Burns. Burns's team won the state title in 1967, his fourth as head coach, and Arlington hockey has six state titles overall: 1947, 1949, 1959, 1964, 1967 and 1971.
The building is a renovated indoor ice facility that opens to the public from September through April. Inside is one regulation-size sheet, 85 by 197 feet, with spectator seating for 1,000 people. The Arlington Hockey Club is the rink's youth hockey program.
On February 25, 2017, the rink hosted the game that honored the 1967 state champions. In January 2022 a blizzard did not stop the first Ed Burns Coffee Pot Hockey Classic from going ahead here. In August 2024 the Stanley Cup spent two hours at Burns Arena.
