Franklin's state-built Pirelli Veterans Arena

Pirelli Veterans Arena in Franklin was completed in 1973 and opened to the public on June 2 of that year. It was built under the direction of Governor Francis Sargent and Commissioner of Natural Resources Arthur Bromwell, with the effort of State Representative George Woods, and remains a state Department of Conservation and Recreation rink, operated for DCR by FMC Ice Sports since 1992.

Beyond the ice, the building has a party room, a heated conference room, a snack bar, a pro shop and a sharpening service.

It is home to the Franklin Hockey Association, King Philip Walpole Youth Hockey and Demons Youth Hockey, and to the Pro Ambitions Hockey Camp, and it hosts events such as tryouts for the New England Future Stars summer hockey program.
