Home ice of Dorchester Youth Hockey

Devine Memorial Rink is a state-owned DCR rink on Morrissey Boulevard near Neponset Circle in Dorchester. Its resident club is Dorchester Youth Hockey, formed when the separate Neponset and Dorchester programs merged, and the club's Neponset roots reach back to the 1970s, when the Big Bad Bruins were winning Stanley Cups and every kid wanted to play hockey.

The club runs Learn to Skate and Learn to Play programs; on a Friday night in March 2019 its Squirt A and B teams were the ones blazing across the ice here. By then a run of title banners had given Dorchester a reputation as a youth hockey powerhouse, and it all sprang from the hours spent on the Devine ice.

The building itself got a new face in summer 2010, when ten young painters from the Mayor's Mural Crew completed a panoramic mural on the side of the rink that harks back to the neighborhood's past. That same summer, for the second year running, the city's Center for Youth and Families was using the inside of the rink.
