A Massachusetts DCR rink, operated by FMC Ice Sports since 2007 and rededicated in 2008
Cronin Memorial Skating Arena is a state rink. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts owns it as one of its public ice skating facilities, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation oversees it. Day-to-day operation has been contracted to FMC Ice Sports since 2007. The building was rededicated in March 2008, a year into FMC's tenure, with the Governor on hand for the ceremony.
Today the sheet is shared by a long list of hockey and skating tenants. The NEFS North Shore Stingrays, the Greater Boston Vipers, StinkySocks Hockey and Pro Ambitions Hockey all call Cronin home, alongside FMC's own learn-to-skate, youth hockey, figure skating, club ice and adult programs.
The rink also opens its ice for one-off community nights. In February 2018 it held a Paint and Skate Night, when local children, among them eight-year-old Nathan Trent of Revere, painted cartoon characters directly onto the ice surface.

The state lists adaptive skating equipment at this rink: 1 adult sled, 1 handle, 1 walker. Ice sleds are free to use at any rink; sleds suit skaters who cannot stand to skate, and the state advises using them at uncrowded skating times.
