Troy's four-sheet hockey arena, built by the Bostick family on their old Big Beaver Road land
Buffalo Wild Wings Arena, formerly the Troy Sports Center, was built by a Troy family on its own land. Charles and Nancy Bostick moved to Troy in 1958 and raised six children on six acres at Big Beaver Road and John R, where Charles founded the John R Spring Company in 1966. After the company moved to East Maple in 1997, the family, led by son Dennis, built the Troy Sports Center on the old site.
The building was designed with three ice rinks and a soccer field, and the field was later converted into a fourth rink; all four are NHL size. The rinks hold 1,630 seats in total, with 20 locker and changing rooms, and the center area adds an assembly atrium, pro shop, concessions, a dance studio and a second-floor physical therapy and fitness center.
Two youth hockey organizations, the Troy Sting and the Oakland Junior Grizzlies, call the arena home. Total Package Hockey also runs its TPH Detroit academy here, built around its mission of study, train, play.
