Ice arena first used in 1986, built up by the club that began on natural ice in 1954

The EV Bad Wörishofen was founded in 1954 and first played hockey on natural ice on the town's tennis courts. In 1956 the club put up the town's first natural-ice stadium on the site of the former indoor pool, on its own initiative. In 1964 it moved to the present grounds, where the stadium was converted to artificial ice in 1972.

The first game in the ice arena at Am Stadionring took place in 1986, in a hall designed for about 2,000 spectators. Its present form and its changing and social rooms grew step by step after 1986. The latest additions, a trainer's flat in 2007-08 and a new toilet block in 2013-14, were built under the skating club's direction.

The figure skating club and the ice stock shooters also call the hall home. Hockey has been played in the town for more than 60 years, now with seven teams, and in summer the hall is used for training and for flea markets run by the skating club.
