Herlev's ice since 1977
Herlev Skøjtehal has put ice under skaters since 1977, for everyone who likes to play, train and compete on the ice. The municipality calls it a hall it is glad and proud of, and says that being active on ice has become part of Herlev's identity. Herlev Ishockey Klub, founded in 1968, was without a hall of its own until 1977.
In September 2019 the Træningsskøjtehallen opened, so the skating complex now has two connected ice halls: two rinks, each in its own building. The hall is busily used by sports clubs, by professional ice hockey and by Herlev residents, and every year when it closes at the end of March the ice is taken off and the hall goes through annual maintenance.
