A free rink run by a volunteer association since 2021

The Eisfeld Langnau is run by the Verein Eisfeld Langnau, founded on 1 July 2021, and the open-air field opened for the first time on Saturday 20 November 2021. Since then the association has offered fun on and beside the ice and a meeting place for young and old.

Admission is free thanks to the sponsors. Each season counts over 65,000 entries and 5,000 borrowed pairs of skates, and more than 100 school classes from ten municipalities come in the mornings. The ice measures 18 by 34 metres and is resurfaced several times a day, so skating is possible all day and until after sunset.

Besides free skating there is pond hockey on Saturday mornings and ice-stock shooting on four lanes on Wednesday mornings, and the rink calls itself the most beautiful ice rink in the Emmental.
