Kobe's Port Island winter rink, with a main sheet and a sub-rink
The Port Island Sports Center is a city-run centre with a swimming hall and an ice rink. The main rink measures 60 by 30 metres with ice 11 centimetres thick and is suitable for international competition in figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey, while remaining easy for beginners.
A sub-rink of 18 by 28 metres, also with ice 11 centimetres thick, stands beside it. Gloves are compulsory and hire skates are available. Tickets come as day tickets, as evening tickets for weekends and holidays, and as books of six that stay valid for three months from the day they are issued.
The rink is a winter operation: the city's notice for the 2026 season gives the opening in late December.
