An open-air rink in the forest at the Waldsee

Eisplatz Lindenberg is the Kunsteisstadion at the Waldsee in the Westallgäu: a refrigerated rink under open sky that its operators call a meeting place for families, ice sports fans and groups. The Förderverein Kunsteisstadion Lindenberg has run it since 2008, and the 2025/26 winter, with more than 29,000 visitors, was the most successful since the club took over.

Public skating is free skating for all, with rental skates and skating aids on site. The programme adds an ice disco with music and lights to start the weekend, a children's skating school with no registration where helmets are lent for free, and a stick session for people who want to skate with stick and puck without being club members. The Lindenberg Chiefs play league hockey on the same ice, and the Eisstüble beside the rink serves hot meals and a place to warm up.

Because the rink is open-air, the club can close it at short notice in warm weather or storms, even when the calendar shows a session.
