Christmas-market skating rink at the Altpörtel, a skating rink again in 2025 after a roller rink
Currently out of season The City of Speyer's page for the Christmas-market rink prints "täglich von 11 bis 20 Uhr" and special hours for 24 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, but no opening or closing date of the season; only 24 December 2026 to 1 January 2027 is listed here. The rink's own site still shows last season (24.11.2025 to 06.01.2026). Official schedule update
The Schlittschuhbahn am Altpörtel is the skating rink of the Speyer Christmas market, set up at the Altpörtel, which the rink's own site calls one of the highest and most beautiful town gates in Germany. The showman Freddy Zinnecker's business runs the rink together with the Altpörtel Stubb and the stalls around it.
In 2025 the roller-skating rink became a skating rink again, picking up the winter tradition of earlier years. That year added a Silent Disco on the ice and a heated ski-lift gondola for six to eight people that can be booked, and food and drink stalls stand all around the rink.
The rink can also be hired exclusively by closed groups for company parties and team events.
