Built in 1964 with a covered stand of 400 seats and room for 2,000 standing; home of HC Chiasso.
The Stadio del ghiaccio in Chiasso was built in 1964. It has one rink, a covered stand with 400 seats, a terrace for 2,000 standing spectators and a skate-hire park for 325 people. In summer the hall stays open for roller skating.
The ice hockey club HC Chiasso, founded on 8 July 1965 to develop the sport in the Mendrisiotto, makes the stadium its home. Since 1986 it has organised an international youth tournament there for the under-9, under-11 and under-13 categories. The municipal pages also list a figure-skating club and a curling club, and a curling grand match is on the stadium's programme for late November.
The hall lies behind the main stand of the Stadio Comunale football ground.
