Open since 1995, with more than 1,450 square metres of ice and a skating school founded the same year
The Pabellón de Hielo de Leganés opened in 1995 and has offered more than 1,450 square metres of ice since, and its own pages count it among the largest ice rinks in Madrid. A local magazine described it as a reference rink for the whole southern zone of the Madrid area when it turned 25 in 2020.
The refrigeration machines have since been replaced with newer units, and a climate system keeps the temperature of the ice apart from the temperature of the hall, which averages about 5 degrees.
The rink's figure-skating school was founded in the same year, 1995, and describes itself as the most experienced figure-skating school in all of Madrid; it teaches groups by level, from children of 5 to adults of 70. Olympic medallist Javier Fernández has skated here and, as of 2020, still came back regularly.
