The Eiswelt Stuttgart on the Waldau was called the Eissportzentrum Waldau until 2011. The TEC Waldau built it in 1961 as an open-air rink, and the city of Stuttgart took it over on 6 December 1962. A roof followed in 1977, and a second open-air surface built in 1967 was roofed in 1983.
The hall was extensively renovated in 2011. Since the 2024/25 season the rink has run climate-neutrally without fossil energy, and it is linked by an energy network to the neighbouring Sporthalle Waldau. For its climate measures the Eiswelt was honoured in the competition Klimaaktive Kommune 2025.
Five Stuttgart ice sports clubs train and compete here, among them the ice hockey team of the Stuttgart Rebels, and three figure-skating clubs skate on the ice: TEC-Waldau Stuttgart, tus Stuttgart Eissport and the Stuttgarter ERC.
