A tent rink on the Markt in its tenth edition

Veghel on Ice opens its tenth edition with a ceremony on 6 December. Besides the rink inside a skating tent, a hospitality square invites people who would rather come for a bite or a drink, and anyone may go on the ice: the organisers set no age limit.

The programme goes beyond free skating. Curling competitions are held on selected evenings and were extended because of last year's success, and there are hard-skating hours for the real daredevils as well as sensory-friendly skating combined with family skating.

Volunteers run the rink, handing out skates, scanning tickets and keeping the ice in shape. The hospitality square hosts live acts, many of them free to attend, and the organisers describe the event as made for families, friends, colleagues and events.
