A 1952 forest rink grown into a two-hall ice centre
The ice rink in the Hardwald at Kloten opened in 1952 as a natural-ice rink in the middle of the forest. The stand was renewed, strengthened and roofed in 1977, and in 1982 dressing rooms, a north stand and an underground car park were added together with a second open-air ice surface. In 1997 a new closed stand around the whole ice surface replaced the old roof with a steel structure, and the arena was adapted for the 2008 ice hockey World Championship.
In May 2021 the open-air rink was pulled down to make room for a replacement building: the Schluefweg HALLE, a modern second hall built for clubs and for public skating. Together with the SWISS Arena, whose ice surface measures 1,800 square metres, it forms the Eissportzentrum. In 2026 the centre tried out summer ice for the first time, on eight Sundays.

A single ticket costs CHF 8.00 for adults and CHF 4.00 for children from 6 and young people; a 6-for-5 card costs CHF 40.00 or CHF 20.00.
