Two NHL-size rinks in Syosset, the Islanders' practice base in 2015 and Long Island University's home rink
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Islanders Iceworks is a multipurpose hockey facility in Syosset with two regulation-sized NHL rinks. In 2015 it was still the New York Islanders' practice rink, and Nassau County officials called the site outdated. That year the Islanders' former owner, Charles Wang, bought the Iceworks out of bankruptcy.
Its amenities fell well short of what other NHL practice facilities offered, and by 2017 the team's practice base had become the Northwell Health Ice Center in East Meadow. Iceworks itself stays open to the community for learning to skate, house leagues and summer camps.
Long Island University, after founding both a men's and a women's hockey team, reached an agreement with the New York Islanders to use the Iceworks as the primary home rink for those programs.
