The former Cawthra Arena, rebuilt for 2025
Carmen Corbasson Community Centre was built in 1972 as Cawthra Arena, on Cawthra Road just south of the QEW. A major gym expansion and facility modernization followed in 2000.
The centre closed to the public on September 6, 2022, for a redevelopment that renovated the existing building to keep up with population growth and changing demographics, added an aquatic and fitness centre and raised its accessibility standards. It reopened on March 31, 2025, and held a grand opening celebration on June 14, 2025.
Its two indoor ice surfaces, Warren Marshall Arena and Ron Searle Arena, each seat up to 150 spectators. They share the building with a climate-controlled indoor walking track, a full-size gymnasium, an active living studio and a 25-metre lane pool.
