Mississauga's largest community centre
Mississauga Valley Community Centre is the City of Mississauga's largest community centre, and its ice arena shares the building with the Terry Fox Fitness Centre, the Terry Fox Pool and Therapy Pool, a gymnasium and meeting rooms. The centre was designed and built during Martin Dobkin's term as mayor of the new City of Mississauga, from 1973 to 1976. The complex is also connected to Mississauga Valley Library.
The arena itself is a single 180-by-80-foot ice rink with seating for up to 375 spectators and six dressing rooms. It is a city-run sheet rather than a club's home: Mississauga Valley Arena hosts skating lessons, ice hockey and public skating, with drop-in figure skating and older adult sessions and an adapted skating program for children with disabilities aged 6 to 12.
Games and sessions in the arena are streamed by LiveBarn, which provides the video streaming service inside the building.
