The Erindale Hockey Association's twin rinks
Erin Mills Twin Arena, on Unity Drive, was the only new arena Mississauga opened in the 1980s. It has two ice surfaces of 80 by 180 feet, change rooms, referee rooms and a multipurpose room for up to 75 people, and the city has ordered a REALice resurfacing system for it.
It is home to the Erindale Hockey Association, the largest association in the Mississauga Hockey League, whose season runs from September to March and ends with playoffs and a trophy banquet.
Erindale hockey traces back to brothers Wally and Gord Oughtred, who played hockey while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and formed the first Erindale team in 1946 to play in an intermediate league.
