The Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink is a 29-year Bellevue holiday tradition, set up each winter in Bellevue Downtown Park, at NE 1st Street and 100th Avenue NE, one block south of Bellevue Square beside Inspiration Playground. The Bellevue Downtown Association sponsors it, and the City of Bellevue lists it on its calendar under a special event permit.
The rink bills itself as the region's largest seasonal ice skating experience, with more than 9,000 square feet of real ice. A concession stand open all season sells hot cocoa, kettle corn and Dippin' Dots, and Friday and Saturday evenings are the busiest.
Past seasons have added themed nights such as Pride Night and Superhero Night, Learn to Skate nights, and free skating lessons on set dates courtesy of Microsoft.
