The NHL-size community rink inside Everett's downtown arena, home ice of the Silvertips since 2003.
Everett Community Ice Rink is an NHL regulation 200-by-85-foot rink inside Angel of the Winds Arena. Construction began in April 2002 after two city blocks of downtown Everett were demolished, including several early-20th-century buildings along Hewitt Avenue, and the building opened as the Everett Events Center on September 27, 2003, with a preview event that drew about 4,000 people.
The main arena hosted its first Western Hockey League game on October 4, 2003, between the Everett Silvertips and the Prince George Cougars, and it drew events that had traditionally gone to the Tacoma Dome, including Disney on Ice and the Harlem Globetrotters. The naming rights went to Comcast in 2007 and to Angel of the Winds Casino Resort in 2017.
The community rink is a public sheet used for public skating, local hockey leagues, figure skating and lessons. Everett Youth Hockey serves players of all ages and abilities here, and adults play in the Morning Bruin Hockey League on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
