A community arena beside Lyndon Institute, with ice from mid-October to early March and turf after.
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Fenton Chester Arena calls itself a community-centered sports arena, and it stands next to and just south of the Lyndon Institute's main building in Lyndon Center. The ice season runs from mid-October to early March, and from late March through September the arena switches to turf.
Each public skate has its own mood. Wednesday afternoons are the laid-back session with more elbow room. Saturday nights bring disco lights and upbeat music for older kids and adults winding down after the work week, and the rink pitches them as a date night. Sunday afternoons are the family skate: the disco lights come on after the intermission, and the cafe serves hot chocolate.
Stick and puck follows the Sunday public skate and is open to all ages and abilities, with pucks and nets supplied by the arena. Freestyle ice is set aside as practice time for figure skaters working independently at the intermediate level or above.
