A seasonal rink in Civic Park with a 64' x 100' surface and an ice slide, in its 21st season
Currently out of season Walnut Creek on Ice's page lists the 21st season as November 20, 2026 to January 18, 2027 at Civic Park. Official schedule update
Walnut Creek on Ice is a seasonal rink in Civic Park that has run for two decades; the coming season is billed as its 21st. The Walnut Creek Downtown Association presents it in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek.
Its 64-by-100-foot skating surface makes it one of California's largest outdoor ice rinks, and it welcomes more than 40,000 skaters each season. Beside the ice stands Frosty's Summit, an ice slide that the rink bills, with the rink itself, as the Bay Area's only outdoor ice rink and ice slide, and the Rinkside Experience adds fire pits for gathering.
Besides public skating, the rink serves birthday parties, field trips, and special programs such as its ice skating academy and hockey programs.
