A 70-by-150-foot outdoor rink under the RiverScape pavilion, beside the Great Miami River downtown
Currently out of season The MetroParks Ice Rink opens for the 2026-27 season on November 27, 2026 (11 a.m. - 10 p.m.) and runs into late February. Official schedule update
The MetroParks Ice Rink sits under the covered pavilion at RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton, the same stage that hosts live music and fitness events through the summer on the banks of the Great Miami River. At 70 by 150 feet it is one of the largest outdoor rinks in the region, with views of the river and the downtown skyline.
Five Rivers MetroParks posts its public skating season on the rink's calendar, teaches Learn to Ice Skate lessons and rents the ice privately on Sunday evenings. Two leagues share the surface: the Dayton Broomball Association's broomball league, played in shoes with broom-shaped sticks and a ball, and a curling league organized by Curl Troy, sliding granite stones toward a target. Between laps, skaters warm up in the Comfort Tent near the café, an insulated tent kept at about 70 degrees.
