Springfield, Ohio's first indoor ice arena, open since October 2013 and run by the Columbus Chiller group
NTPRD Chiller opened in October 2013 as the first indoor ice skating arena in Springfield, Ohio. The National Trail Parks and Recreation District owns the building, and Chiller LLC, the Columbus company that runs five rinks with eight sheets there, manages it. The rink is affiliated with the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets through shared majority ownership.
The arena is a 41,000-square-foot building with a single regulation sheet and a mezzanine. Public skating, skating and hockey classes, youth and college hockey and special events all share that one surface. The district's 2026 event listings for the Chiller include the Cardboard Classic Bobsled Races.
The Dayton Stealth Hockey Association calls the Chiller home and runs recreational and travel teams out of it. The September 2026 rink schedule also carries Wittenberg men's and women's hockey, Wright State hockey and the Academy Hockey Club.
