Currently out of season Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink runs from 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027; session times are shown when you book on the rink's site. Official schedule update
Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink is a seasonal outdoor rink at the palace, operated by Icebox Live in association with Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for the building and its grounds. The operator bills it as one of London's biggest ice rinks.
The palace behind the ice was begun in 1514 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, who gave it to Henry VIII in 1529 as he fell from favour. William III's rebuilding in the early 1690s, meant to rival Versailles, destroyed much of the Tudor palace, and the restored building opened to the public in 1838 under Queen Victoria. It has been Grade I listed since 1952.
The rink is outdoors and open to the elements. Its redesigned skate exchange and café take their look from the palace's original Orangery, and weekends bring live ice sculpting, a skating Santa and DJ nights. Adult-only sessions with a live DJ and SEND sessions run through the season, and Deelight Bakery and the Department of Coffee & Social Affairs supply the food and drink.
