Currently out of season The Queen's House Ice Rink in Greenwich is open from 18 November 2026 until 3 January 2027, except on Christmas Day. It closes at 9pm, with the last session starting at 8pm; the rink's own site gives an 11am opening and the Royal Museums Greenwich page says 10am, so check the time when you book. Tickets are for a set date and time. Official schedule update
The Queen's House Ice Rink is an open-air rink in the Greenwich World Heritage Site, with views of the Thames, Canary Wharf and the architecture of the Queen's House. UNESCO recognised Greenwich as a World Heritage Site in 1997, and in 2026 the rink is brought to you by Tamarisk Events.
The house itself was begun in 1616, but work stopped in April 1618 when Anne became ill and died the following year; it was structurally complete by 1635. It is one of the most important buildings in British architectural history, as the first consciously classical building constructed in the country.
In 2026 the rink has doubled in size while keeping the same capacity, for a more spacious and unhurried skate. It has a 'skate-off pit lane' for mid-session breaks and offers special sessions for toddlers, students and SEND families, with community sessions and quiet skates. Spectators can watch from the perimeter for free, and Santa's Grotto runs at the Queen's House in the weeks before Christmas.
