Panorama City's rink since 1997, longtime home of the California Heat, whose large sheet closed in June 2026.
The LA Kings Valley Ice Center was under construction in Panorama City in 1997, and since then it has been home to many Southern California youth hockey players. It offers hockey, public sessions, a skating school and figure skating, and houses the Natty Hatty Off-Ice Center for strength and conditioning.
Its best-known tenant is the California Heat, a nonprofit youth hockey organization serving more than 200 players and families. The club was founded as the West Valley Wolves in the early 1990s, one of the oldest programs in the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association, and became the California Heat in 2012.
The rink's future is uncertain. It is owned by Agora Realty & Management and operated by PIM, Inc., and in April 2026 the Heat announced it would move to the new LA Kings Reseda Ice for the 2026–27 season in response to the Valley Ice Center's impending closure. In May, owner Scott Floman said rising costs and financial hardship meant the large sheet of ice would close on June 1.
