Where Loudoun County skates
Ashburn Ice House calls itself the place where Loudoun County skates, and by 2021 it had served the community for more than 22 years. It has two NHL-size rinks, heated locker rooms, four conference rooms, the Inside Edge fitness facility, the Studio Edge dance studio and a full-service pro shop.
It is a figure skating center, running the ACE Skating Academy and a U.S. Figure Skating Aspire program, with coaches such as Andrey Kryukov, who has coached at the highest levels in the U.S. for more than 20 years.
On January 29, 2025, the rink lost skaters, coaches, families and friends in the crash of American Airlines Flight 5342. Coach Inna Volyanskaya, who had worked at the Ashburn Ice House since 2017, died that year. In their honor, CRP Management commissioned a sculpture by local artist Zachary Oxman, whose father was the building's architect. "Every skater has their home rink," the rink wrote, "we were proud to be theirs."
