A locally owned twin-rink building with an NHL sheet and an Olympic sheet, skating in Reston for over 30 years
SkateQuest has been Reston's ice rink for over 30 years, a privately run, locally owned building where skating is available year-round. It is a twin-rink facility just off the Dulles Toll Road, with a pro shop, a café and party rooms alongside the two sheets.
The two rinks have different jobs. The NHL rink measures 200 feet long by 85 feet wide and is used mainly for public skating sessions, group lessons and hockey games. The Olympic rink is 200 feet long by 100 feet wide and is used mainly for hockey, figure skating and large-scale events.
The Reston Raiders, a non-profit youth hockey organization, skate out of SkateQuest. For younger children, Parents' Night Out puts skaters ages 6½ and older on the ice for supervised skating, crafts, games and dinner led by SkateQuest staff.

Adult pick-up hockey takes no phone-in reservations: the sign-up sheet goes out 60 minutes before the session, it is capped at 30 skaters first come first served, and the $15 fee is due at sign-up. Parents' Night Out requires advance registration.
