Northeast Skate Zone on Decatur Road opened in 2002. The 68,000-square-foot facility has two NHL-size rinks and two private party rooms for corporate, community and group functions, and it houses on-site businesses including the Puck Bunnies and the Counterstrike Conditioning Training Center.
The arena is owned by Black Bear Sports Group, and the Skate Zone offers hockey and skating programs, public skating, drop-ins, leagues, trade shows and private rentals. Its management focuses on operational performance through integrated services.
It is home to the Philadelphia Blazers, a Tier II youth hockey program with travel teams, and to Edges of Philadelphia, a figure skating group whose stated mission is to build a safe and positive community where its members can grow their love of skating.
