The first of Arizona's three AZ Ice rinks, opened in 2001
AZ Ice Arcadia opened its doors in 2001, the first rink in what is now a three-rink AZ Ice group in Arizona. The group added AZ Ice Peoria in 2003 and AZ Ice of the East Valley in 2004, and in February and March 2014 it acquired the Peoria and Gilbert rinks and rebranded all of them under the AZ Ice name.
The Arcadia sheet is a rink for public skating, hockey and figure skating for all ages and abilities. Adult hockey arrived at Arcadia in 2010. Tim Totter has been skating director here since 2013, and since 2017 he has served as test chair for the Arcadia Figure Skating Club and the Valley of the Sun Figure Skating Club. The building connects directly to the Ice House Tavern.
Leadership changed in 2020, when founder Jim Rogers died unexpectedly. General manager Jim Curley, who had joined AZ Ice full time in 2014 for the Peoria and Gilbert acquisitions, took over all aspects of the business and has run the three rinks, M's Grill and the Ice House Tavern since. In 2026 each location received a new website of its own.
