Polar Ice Raleigh is the former Raleigh IcePlex, an Olympic-size ice skating facility in north Raleigh. American Skating Entertainment Centers, founded in 2006 and the largest owner and operator of ice skating and indoor sports facilities in the United States, announced its acquisition of the IcePlex on December 15, 2017. At the time the building was home to youth and adult hockey leagues, a figure skating program and a year-round day camp, and the purchase renewed the company's partnership with Jeff Ammons.
The Polar Adult Hockey League's Central Conference is based here. Children come up from Learn to Skate into Kindercanes, or into Lil' Canes 1, Lil' Canes 2 and the Lil' Canes Academy, a class offered only at the Raleigh location, before joining the House League. Figure skating runs under Skating Director Kristy Hemstreet, and Camp Chillin' runs year-round for ages 5 to 11. A Learn to Skate registration includes unlimited public skating at all five Polar locations.

Weekend/Holiday admission (Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday, holidays and school holidays, December 19th-January 1): Public Admission $12.00, Public Admission + skate rental $16; age 5 & under $5, rental included.

Skate aids for children under 54 inches tall are available at the desk only, first-come and not reservable online. Carrying children on the ice is not allowed under any circumstances.
