Goleta's nonprofit rink, open since October 10, 2015

Ice in Paradise opened its doors in Goleta on October 10, 2015. The rink is run as a nonprofit that opened only with contributions from community members, and it has relied each year since on a mix of user fees, donations, grants and sponsorships.

The Snider Rink is an NHL-sized sheet built with sled hockey in mind, with a bench area where disabled athletes can get on and off the ice; the rink hosted the US Men's Sled Hockey Team in March 2017 and the US Women's Sled Hockey Team in March 2023. The Santa Barbara Ice Hawks, a co-ed travel club governed by the Santa Barbara Minor Hockey Association, have called Ice in Paradise home since 2016, holding tryouts, all practices and league games here for divisions from 8U to 18U. An adult hockey tournament that started after the 2015 opening, with players invited from across the country and as far as Canada, has become an annual event.

The rink stayed open during and after the pandemic and celebrated ten years in October 2025; recent changes include a renovated Rinkside Café and new programs such as a STEM field trip and a Success Center. Inside the front doors, a display case holds a helmet and shovel from the groundbreaking and a photo of the ribbon cutting.
