An Olympic-size sheet that won the 2019 Fritz Dietl Award for Ice Arena Excellence
Palm Beach Ice Works describes itself as South Florida's newest skating facility, built around an Olympic-size sheet. In 2019 it won the national Fritz Dietl Award for Ice Arena Excellence, which honors the lifetime dedication of Fritz Dietl to the ice skating industry.
Longwood Hockey acquired the rink and the Palm Beach Breakers from their previous owner, a local philanthropist. It is now the parent group of the Florida Surf, Florida Wave and Palm Beach Breakers organizations. The Breakers' charter was approved as a USA Hockey sanctioned AAA team under SAHOF for the 2025-26 season, and a Tier 2 AA/A program continues alongside it.
Figure skating is the other anchor: the rink is home to The Skating Club of Florida. The Palm Beach Showcase brings elite youth hockey teams to the building, and public sessions are held throughout the year.
