Palm Beach County's only three-rink ice facility, started by families of a youth roller hockey team.
Palm Beach Skate Zone started with the Palm Beach Vipers, a youth roller hockey team that practiced on basketball courts for years until a group of families came together to build a rink. It opened in 1997 and grew over time into a three-rink facility, and in 2012 some of the original families took over operations for the first time.
It is now Palm Beach County's only three-rink ice facility, with a kitchen, full-service pro shop, party and locker rooms and arcade games. The Madhatters of the Typhoon Hockey Club play their home games here.
In February 2022 a fire broke out about 40 feet behind the building. By late July two of the three rinks were running again, with the third expected back by the end of August.
