Opened October 12, 1972 at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds
Cloverdale Arena officially opened on October 12, 1972, a City of Surrey-owned rink on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Cloverdale Minor Hockey Association was created in January 1972, months before the doors opened, in anticipation of the new arena's fall opening.
The ice is used mostly for hockey, including sledge hockey, and figure skating, with the occasional concert or lacrosse game taking over the floor. The Cloverdale Junior Hockey Club, a Pacific Junior Hockey League franchise based in Cloverdale, plays its home games here. The city also counts 15,000 square feet of exhibit space inside the arena, with a scoreboard that has flexible scoring and timing capabilities.
The Cloverdale Junior Hockey Club is expected to move to Cloverdale Sport and Ice Complex for the 2027–28 season.
