Surrey's newest ice complex, in Cloverdale
The City of Surrey officially opened the Cloverdale Sport & Ice Complex on October 25, 2025, after construction of its two-sheet building was completed that summer. "Cloverdale is growing rapidly, and this new complex delivers the inclusive, accessible and high-quality recreational spaces that families have been waiting for," Mayor Brenda Locke said at the opening.
The building has two NHL-size rinks, each with four full-size team dressing rooms, two officials' rooms and more than 200 spectator seats, and both are built for accessible ice sports such as para hockey. It also has skate and helmet rentals, skate sharpening, multipurpose rooms and food service, in the heart of the Cloverdale community.
Demand has already outgrown it. Construction of a third NHL-size sheet was scheduled to begin in late 2025, with the new ice expected to be ready in fall 2027. The project's approved budget is CA$132.8 million, including CA$70.2 million from the Province of British Columbia's Growing Communities Fund.
